What's new.

Every feature, fix and change to MeetKeeper, newest first.

Version 1.4.0 · macOS 14 or later

app 1.4.0

MeetKeeper speaks Chinese and Spanish

  • The notch, Settings, alerts, invitations and the welcome now come in Simplified Chinese and Spanish, as well as English. Dates and times follow too.
  • It uses your Mac's language by itself. To pick one just for MeetKeeper, open Settings → General → Language.
  • Quick add reads dates typed in Chinese or Spanish: 明天下午4点和 Sam 喝咖啡 or Café con Sam mañana a las 16:00.
  • In any language, in 30 min or in 2 hours now sets the time it means.

Send feedback from the app

  • Send Feedback in the menu bar menu, or in Settings, drops a card out of the notch. Pick what it's about, write a few words, and add your email if you'd like a reply.
  • Something not working? Leave Include diagnostics on to attach how the app is set up. You can read every line before sending, and it never includes your events, people or calendar names.
  • Offline? Your words stay put, and Email instead opens the same message in your mail app.
app 1.3.1

Start a call from the notch

  • The new green camera button in the panel makes a Google Meet link and copies it, ready to paste into any chat. With Outlook connected, it makes a Teams link instead.
  • Press ⌃⌥C from any app, or choose New Call in the menu bar menu, and the panel opens with the link.
  • Join now opens the call straight away. The call also goes in your calendar for the next 30 minutes, so people can see you're busy.
  • No Google or Outlook account connected? Google Meet opens in your browser instead.

Yours to keep, for $9.99

  • Every copy now starts with a 14-day free trial with every feature. Already using MeetKeeper? Your 14 days start with this update.
  • After the trial, one payment of $9.99 keeps it running on 2 Macs: no subscription and no account. Checkout is by Dodo Payments, and the licence key arrives by email.
  • New Settings → Licence shows your trial, takes your key, and removes a Mac when you want to move the licence to another one. After buying, Activate in MeetKeeper on the thank-you page does it in one click.
  • Changed your mind? A full refund within 14 days of buying, no questions asked.

Google Calendar is open to everyone

  • Google has approved MeetKeeper, so any Google account can connect in one click from Settings → Google. No waiting list, no warning screen, no "Advanced" link to click through.
  • Google shows its normal permission screen with the MeetKeeper name, and your calendar lands in the notch right after.
app 1.2.4

The notch on any display

  • Settings → General → Display now has Show the notch on: the built-in display (as before), the main display, the display the mouse is on, or one particular monitor by name. On a screen without a notch MeetKeeper draws one at the top centre, so a desk setup with the lid closed works the same as the MacBook on its own.
  • Pick how big the drawn notch is: fitted inside the menu bar, or the proportions of a MacBook notch.
  • "The display with the mouse" moves the notch along as you cross between screens, and never mid-panel or mid-alert.
  • If the chosen monitor is unplugged or the lid is closed, the notch falls back to the main display by itself, and comes back when the monitor does.
app 1.2.1

Join lands in the call. Outlook keeps up in seconds.

  • Join opens Zoom and Teams meetings in their apps directly when they're installed, instead of a browser tab that bounces to the app. No app? The browser, as before. Meet stays in the browser, where it lives.
  • Outlook changes now show up in the notch within seconds, the same way Google's do: MeetKeeper asks Microsoft only for what changed since its last look, every fifteen seconds and whenever the notch opens.
app 1.2

The notch introduces itself

  • On first launch the notch drops down by itself, with a small face whose eyes follow your cursor, and says hi. No more silent app and a bare permission dialog from nowhere.
  • Three steps that tick themselves off: let it see your calendars (macOS asks in context), connect Google Calendar or Outlook in one click (or say you're Apple only), and add something by typing. Each finished step settles into a green check and the next one lights up.
  • When the last one lands, the face squints happily, says you're set, and the panel melts into your real day.
  • Skip for now is always one click. Existing installs never see it; Settings has Show the welcome again.
app 1.1.4

A calmer people picker

  • Adding the first guest is as smooth as the second: the chips row no longer scrolls, so nothing flies in from the corner. The first chip settles in with the same small spring as every other.
  • Invite people no longer pushes the whole form around. Suggestions open as a menu under the address field, floating over the form, so the header stays where it is and the panel never crops.
  • Arrow keys move through the suggestions, Enter adds the highlighted one, Esc closes the menu. Four rows show at a time; more scroll.
  • The typing hint steps aside while you're picking people.
app 1.1.2

Goodbye, Notion Calendar buttons

  • The notch talks to Google, Outlook and your Mac's calendars directly, so the Notion Calendar shortcuts that used to sit next to every event are gone. Event details now open in Google Calendar, Outlook or Calendar, whichever the event lives in.
  • Quick add says plainly where an event goes: Google Calendar, Outlook, or a calendar on this Mac.
app 1.1.1

Google changes land in seconds

  • Add or move something on your phone and the notch has it within about five seconds, not two minutes. MeetKeeper now asks Google only for what changed since its last look, a request so small it can run every fifteen seconds.
  • Opening the notch triggers a check too, so what you see is never more than a few seconds old.
  • Still no MeetKeeper server: your Mac talks to Google directly, as before.

Updates that take care of themselves

  • Version 1.1.0 is the last one you download by hand. From now on MeetKeeper checks for a new version a few times a day, fetches it in the background and verifies it, then shows a single line in the panel: MeetKeeper 1.2 is ready · Restart.
  • Restart takes about a second and the notch comes back where it was. Leave it and the update installs itself the next time MeetKeeper quits, so you end up current either way.
  • It never interrupts: nothing is shown in the ten minutes before a meeting. After an update the panel says once what changed, with a link here.
  • Settings, General, Updates has the switch, the version, and a Check now for the impatient. The check fetches one small file from meetkeeper.fun and nothing else leaves your Mac.

Outlook, connected in one click

  • Settings has an Outlook tab. Sign in with a Microsoft 365, Outlook.com or Exchange Online account and its calendars show up in the notch beside Google and Apple ones.
  • Everything Google can do, Outlook can do: type a meeting and the invites go out through Outlook with a Teams link attached, edit or cancel from the notch, and answer invitations with Yes, Maybe or No.
  • Pick an Outlook calendar as the home for new meetings from the calendar chooser. The video toggle reads Teams there instead of Google Meet. Personal Outlook.com accounts can't mint Teams links, so the toggle disappears for them after the first try.
  • The connection lives on your Mac, like Google's. No MeetKeeper account, no server in between. Details on the privacy and subprocessors pages.

Answer invitations from the notch

  • A Google invitation you have not answered shows up with a hollow bar and an Invite tag. Open it and reply with Yes, Maybe or No. The organizer hears back right away.
  • While anything is waiting, a Needs your reply strip sits above the day list with the earliest one and the buttons inline. Answer it and the next one slides in. Press the cross to leave it for later.
  • When a new invitation lands while MeetKeeper is running, the notch drops down with it. Reply from there or click through to the event.
  • Yes and Maybe are one click. No asks once, since a declined event leaves your calendar.
  • Invitations on a Mac calendar point to Calendar, which owns their reply. Turn the drop-down off under Settings, Meeting alerts, New invitations.
  • Later the same day: the row and the tag go away once a meeting has ended, the strip stays put while the list scrolls, +N more steps through waiting invites, a read-only Google connection gets a Reply in Google Calendar button, and Join turns into a plain link after the meeting.

Edit, delete and decline from the notch

  • Press ✎ on any event to change the title, the time and, on Google events, the guests and the Meet link.
  • The when-line takes phrases: 4pm keeps the day, fri keeps the time, all day clears it.
  • Delete with one inline confirmation; guests get a cancellation. On someone else's invitation the button becomes Decline.
  • Recurring events change one occurrence only, and a save writes only the fields you touched.

Meetings: invites, Meet links and free slots

  • Type a name or an email in quick add and it becomes a guest chip. Google sends the invitations.
  • A Google Meet link is attached automatically; turn it off per meeting if you don't want one.
  • Skip the time and MeetKeeper picks the next free slot in your calendar, with a clash check before you send.

A new name and a new face

  • NotchCal became MeetKeeper. The mark is the notch with a face; the wordmark is lowercase meetkeeper.
