    Download and open it.

    Safari opens the disk image for you. In other browsers, double-click MeetKeeper.dmg in Downloads.

    Drag meetkeeper into Applications.

    The window that opens has the app on the left and Applications on the right. Drag one onto the other, then open MeetKeeper from Applications and eject the disk image.

    Open it, then click Open Anyway. Once.

    MeetKeeper isn't from the App Store yet, so your Mac double-checks it the first time. Click Done, open System Settings → Privacy & Security, scroll to the bottom and click Open Anyway. Never again after that.

    Shortcut: right-click the app in Applications and choose Open.

    Allow calendar access and hover the notch.

    The notch drops down and introduces itself, then walks you through the rest: allow calendar access when macOS asks, connect Google Calendar or Outlook in one click, and add your first event by typing. In Settings (the gear in the panel) turn on Launch MeetKeeper at login. That's the last download you'll do by hand: new versions arrive on their own from here.

Connect your calendar apps.

  • Google Calendar one click

    In MeetKeeper, open Settings → Google and click Connect Google Calendar. Sign in once in your browser and you're back. This is what enables invites and Google Meet links.

  • Outlook one click

    In MeetKeeper, open Settings → Outlook and click Connect Outlook. Works with Microsoft 365, Outlook.com and Exchange Online accounts. Invites go out through Outlook, with a Teams link where the account can make one.

  • Apple Calendar & iCloud built in

    Nothing to do. Anything in the Calendar app on your Mac is already in MeetKeeper.

if something's off

Quick fixes.

“MeetKeeper is damaged and can't be opened”

That's the quarantine flag on a download from a browser other than Safari. With the app in Applications, run this once in Terminal and open it again:

xattr -d com.apple.quarantine /Applications/MeetKeeper.app
The panel is empty

Check System Settings → Privacy & Security → Calendars and make sure MeetKeeper is on. Then in MeetKeeper's Settings → Mac Calendar, tick the calendars you want to see.

Nothing happens when I hover the notch

In Settings, check Expand when the mouse touches the notch. If it's off, click the notch instead. On an external display there is no notch: MeetKeeper lives on the MacBook's own screen.

Updating or uninstalling

Updates take care of themselves. MeetKeeper checks meetkeeper.fun a few times a day, downloads a new version in the background and checks it, then shows one line in the panel: MeetKeeper 1.2 is ready · Restart. Click it and the notch is back in a second. Leave it and the update installs by itself the next time MeetKeeper quits. You can turn this off under Settings, General, Updates. To uninstall, quit MeetKeeper from the menu-bar icon, drag the app to the Bin, and optionally remove ~/Library/Application Support/MeetKeeper.
