  1. step 1

    Download the zip.

    Safari unzips it for you. In other browsers, double-click the zip in Downloads.

    Drag meetkeeper into Applications.

    Open Finder, go to Downloads, and drag MeetKeeper onto Applications in the sidebar. macOS treats apps left in Downloads as temporary, so this matters.

    Open it, then click Open Anyway. Once.

    MeetKeeper is signed but not yet notarized with Apple, so the first launch shows a warning. Click Done, open System Settings → Privacy & Security, scroll to the bottom and click Open Anyway. Never again after that.

    Shortcut: right-click the app in Applications and choose Open.

    Allow calendar access and hover the notch.

    Click Allow when macOS asks. Your Apple, iCloud and Google calendars appear straight away. Move the mouse to the notch and today unfolds. In Settings (the gear in the panel) turn on Launch MeetKeeper at login.

Connect your calendar apps.

  • Google Calendar one click

    In MeetKeeper, open Settings → Google and click Connect Google Calendar. Sign in once in your browser and you're back. This is what enables invites and Google Meet links.

  • Apple Calendar & iCloud built in

    Nothing to do. Anything in the Calendar app on your Mac is already in MeetKeeper.

  • Notion Calendar via macos

    Notion Calendar shows your Google or iCloud calendars, so add the same Google account under System Settings → Internet Accounts with Calendars ticked. MeetKeeper then shows exactly what Notion Calendar shows.

if something's off

Quick fixes.

“MeetKeeper is damaged and can't be opened”

That's the quarantine flag on a zip from a browser other than Safari. With the app in Applications, run this once in Terminal and open it again:

xattr -d com.apple.quarantine /Applications/MeetKeeper.app
The panel is empty

Check System Settings → Privacy & Security → Calendars and make sure MeetKeeper is on. Then in MeetKeeper's Settings → Mac Calendar, tick the calendars you want to see.

Nothing happens when I hover the notch

In Settings, check Expand when the mouse touches the notch. If it's off, click the notch instead. On an external display there is no notch: MeetKeeper lives on the MacBook's own screen.

Updating or uninstalling

To update, download the new zip, quit MeetKeeper from the menu-bar icon and drag the new app over the old one. To uninstall, drag it to the Trash; settings live in ~/Library/Application Support/MeetKeeper.
